The VoiceMaster Gives Message of Hope to College of St. Benilde Faculty
December 7, 2017
On December 6, the De La Salle – College of St. Benilde Faculty Association held its Christmas Gathering and General Assembly at the Plaza Villarosa inside the CSB campus. Over 50 faculty members attended for a night of entertainment, inspiration and fellowship. The theme of this year’s gathering is “Faith, Hope and Love.”
The celebration began with an opening prayer, followed by the opening remarks from DLS-CSB Faculty Association President, Dr. Antonio Levy S. Ingles, Jr., Ph.D. He then introduced the video message from Ms. Antoinette Taus, who sent her Christmas greetings to the audience. Another video message followed, which is the Message of Faith from DLS-CSB President, Brother Dennis Magbanua FSC.
Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales came onstage next to deliver the Message of Hope. He introduced himself and his profession as a voice artist. Pocholo entertained the audience with a couple of voice impersonations, and amazed them by doing a one-man live radio drama of his childhood favorite, “Gabi ng Lagim.” Pocholo also gave the audience a perspective on the importance of the voice, and how it can be used as an instrument to inspire hope in others.
Pocholo then transitioned to speaking about being an “instrument of hope.” He talked about the 4 things that each person has a capacity to share, which spell the word “hope.” According to Pocholo, we can spark hope in other people by giving and sharing happiness, opportunities, passion and empathy. He challenged the faculty members to become an instrument of hope in their way.
The faculty members were also treated to a sumptuous dinner and some raffle prizes. Also present during the event is young singer/songwriter Rhap Salazar, who serenaded the audience with songs of faith, hope and love.
